Let’s Talk Mortal Kombat

I remember renting Mortal Kombat for the Genesis and loving it. Sub-Zero was the first person I picked to play the game. The blue ninja outfit really stuck out. I stopped playing Mortal Kombat after MK4 or Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero, because I didn’t like the 3D era.

It wasn’t until I picked up Mortal Kombat (2011) for the 360 that got me hooked again. I know a lot of people doesn’t like the retelling of MK9 but to a fan that hasn’t played in years, it was incredible. All my favorites were there Sub-Zero, Sonya Blade, and Nightwolf.

Introducing guest characters made it even better like Freddy Krueger, playing as Freddy had me sold. I didn’t start playing Mortal Kombat 10 until three years after its release because I was still playing on a 360 and I waited a long time before getting an Xbox One. But when I did MK10 was one of the first games I bought. I still play MK X to this day, the living and hoilday towers is what I play the most and being part of a faction is nice, Special Forces is what I went with I’m always in last place at the end of the week but I hold my own on daily challenges. Introducing horror icons like Jason Voorhees and Leatherface and having a match between Alien & Predator is fun. Hopefully MK 11 keeps up the tradition, I know Spawn is a huge favorite and everyone wants Pennywise to join in the fight. I would like to see Terminator T-800 or T-1000, Neo from the Matrix, or Beetlejuice be apart of future DLC.

I been keeping up with everything MK 11 and as of today Kable and D’Vorah were announced. A couple days ago Kano was announced and I’m a bit disappointed, we saw him in two previous games I was hoping NetherRealm would give him a rest. I am happy to see Skarlet, she was one of my mains in MK 9. Sub-Zero is returning and I hope to see Reiko make a comeback, haven’t see him since MK: Armageddon.

Lastly I hope MK 11 story mode is good, being all time travel and whatnot… And kronika looks like she is going to be an awesome character.
